Queer space operas are more common than they used to be, though in many the queerness can become more of a background element. However, the the hero's journey represented in Bonds of Brass is striking.
I was triggered by some of the events and feelings around depression, isolation, loneliness, and doing desperate things in desperate times. It wasn't an easy book for me to finish because of that.
I'm glad I did though. I'm even more excited to read the next though I expect the roller coaster will continue.
